TL;DR: Paralives just launched on Steam Early Access, and it’s already showing serious promise as a legit rival to The Sims.
Seven years. That’s how long indie studio Paralives Studio has been building this game — fully funded through Patreon by a community that genuinely believed there was room for something better than what EA has been giving Sims fans for years.
Paralives officially hit Steam Early Access on May 25 for $39.99 (around ₱2,300).
What’s in it?
The game features a fully open world with no loading screens between lots, a flexible build system with curved walls and a color wheel for basically everything, and a character creator called “Paramaker” — complete with height sliders, personality traits, and customizable values. Ang ganda ng customization options, hindi mo maisip na indie game lang ito.
The town (reportedly named Melino) actually feels alive — you can walk around shops, join town events, and yes, donate mushrooms to the local museum. It’s that kind of game.
But keep your expectations in check.
Reviewers agree it’s rough around the edges — buggy in places, the UI needs work, and big features like pets, seasons, and pools are still coming down the roadmap. Alam na natin yan, it’s early access.
For players who want to grow with the game, it’s worth jumping in now. If you’d rather wait for a more polished experience, the developers have committed to roughly a two-year Early Access period.
