Crazy Kart Is Gone, But Here’s Where Pinoy Kart Racers Can Still Drift in 2026

TL;DR: Crazy Kart Philippines shut down back in 2013, and there’s no official way to play it anymore. But if the drifting itch is still there, Nexon is rebooting the classic KartRider on PC (Korea and Taiwan muna for now), and KartRider Rush+ is alive and kicking on mobile.

If you spent your 2008 afternoons in an internet café drifting around corners instead of doing homework, you’re not alone. Crazy Kart was one of those games that took over computer shops back then. Every other PC had that colorful racing screen and someone yelling at their barkada for stealing first place on the last lap.

Crazy Kart was developed by China’s Shanda Interactive and brought here by Level Up!, the same publisher behind Ragnarok Online, RF Online, and Flyff. Closed beta ran from July 16 to 28, 2008. Open beta followed on July 31. It was free to play and easy to pick up, and drifting felt amazing once you got the timing right. Level Up! even followed it up with a sequel, Crazy Kart 2: Race Battle Online.

But all good things end. Level Up! shut down Crazy Kart Philippines on July 31, 2013, five years to the day after open beta, citing that Shanda was no longer prioritizing the game. Sayang talaga.

So, can you still play Crazy Kart?

Officially, no. There’s no active Crazy Kart server for Pinoy players today. If you’ve been searching for a way back in, that’s the honest answer.

The good news is that the genre isn’t dead. It just moved.

Option 1: CrazyRacing KartRider is coming back (on PC)

Quick clarification muna: KartRider is a different game from Crazy Kart. It’s Nexon’s own kart racer, part of the Crazy Arcade family, and it’s the one most people abroad think of when they hear “online kart racing.” Same vibe, different game.

Nexon announced in June 2026 that it’s rebooting the original as CrazyRacing KartRider for PC. It also opened an official KartRider website (in Korean) where the dev team posts newsletters and development updates. The plan is a return to its roots, with:

  • Refined handling
  • Competitive drifting physics
  • A cleaner, streamlined UI
  • Fan newsletters and updates during development, so players get a say early on

The catch is that it’s announced for Korea and Taiwan only for now. There’s no global or Philippine release yet, and no launch date. Abangan na lang natin.

This reboot comes after a rough few years for the franchise. The original KartRider closed in Korea in 2023 to make way for KartRider: Drift, and Drift itself shut down globally in February 2025.

Option 2: KartRider Rush+ is live on mobile right now

KartRider Rush+

If you want to race today, KartRider Rush+ on iOS and Android is your best bet. It’s currently in Season 41, called “Galaxy,” which added:

  • Two new space-themed highlight karts
  • Six new racers
  • New pets and a revamped main lobby
  • A new speed track, plus an ice track that opened in early October

It’s on your phone, so you can race your barkada anywhere. Hindi mo na kailangan pumunta sa computer shop.

The bottom line

Crazy Kart may be gone, but the itch to drift never really left Pinoy gamers. If a global CrazyRacing KartRider release ever happens, expect a lot of titos and titas dusting off their old IGNs.

Did you play Crazy Kart back in the day? What was your go-to kart? Sound off in the comments.
