TL;DR: Gunfire Reborn has a new DLC on the way. Lunar Melody adds two new heroes, Lang Yao and Loong, plus four new weapons: Firefly, Red Prime, Wolfbrush, and Meltpaint. The Steam page is live and you can wishlist it now, but there’s no release date or price yet.
If your barkada still hops into Gunfire Reborn for “isang run lang” that somehow turns into three hours, here’s something new to talk about. The game’s development team has officially revealed Lunar Melody, the next DLC for its FPS roguelite, and this one goes all in on a moonlit, musical theme. Think moonlight on the sea, string melodies, ink brushes, and a sky full of fireflies.
Two new heroes check into the Remote Inn

Lang Yao fights to a rhythm. One snap of his fingers and the notes he plays roll out like waves, and he clears the battlefield on the beat. His full kit hasn’t been revealed yet, pero based on the description, music is clearly his whole thing.
Loong takes the fight to the sky. She walks the void and the moon, rides over a sea of clouds, and looks down on the battlefield from above. She can also call down starlight and moonlight to pass judgment on her enemies. Fitting name, too: “Loong” is the word often used for the Chinese dragon, which matches her cloud-riding style.
Four new weapons, four very different vibes

The new guns lean on light, heavy firepower, ink, and color:
- Firefly – Sparks scatter like stars and form a web of light. Fireflies fill the sky and rain light across the battlefield.
- Red Prime – A sniper rifle and a hover cannon in one weapon. When the two combine, it unloads a heavy barrage.
- Wolfbrush – The shaft is jade and the bullets are thick ink. Where the brush strikes, a grey wolf general charges in to cut enemies down. Oo, a paintbrush that summons a general.
- Meltpaint – Its paint-canister magazine bursts overhead and rains molten color on enemies, like a rainbow chasing them through the rain.
The devs say you can mix the new heroes and weapons with existing ones, plus the game’s Occult Scrolls, to come up with new builds. For a game that lives and dies by its build variety, that’s the real draw here. Expect the usual “anong build mo?” debates once this drops.
A steady stream of content

Gunfire Reborn launched in 2020 and still holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 93% of reviews being positive. It keeps that momentum going with regular seasons and DLC drops. Last October brought Echoes from Primal Grove, which added Yoyo and Cang Jue to the roster. Lunar Melody keeps that rhythm going, pun intended.
If you haven’t tried it yet, Gunfire Reborn mixes FPS gunplay, roguelite runs, and RPG-style hero abilities across procedurally generated levels. You can play solo or in co-op with up to four players, kaya swak na swak sa squad na laging kumpleto tuwing weekend.
What we don’t know yet
The announcement doesn’t include a release date or price, and it only mentions Steam for now. If you’re on console or mobile, wait for an official word on whether Lunar Melody is coming to your platform.
For now, the best move is to wishlist the DLC on Steam so you get notified the moment it launches.
