Necromancer: Undead Legion RPG Turns Every Kill Into Your Next Soldier, and Pre-Registration Is Open
TL;DR: Necromancer: Undead Legion RPG is a dark fantasy action RPG for Android and iOS from Ancoach Studio, a one-person studio in South Korea. Every monster you defeat leaves a corpse that you can raise as an undead minion or blow up with Corpse Explosion. Pre-registration is open on Google Play and pre-orders are open on the App Store, and both give 600 Gems. There’s no release date yet.
In most summoner games, you stand at the back while your minions do the work. Necromancer: Undead Legion RPG puts you in the middle of the fight. Dito, kasama ka mismo sa gulo.
You move with a joystick on the left side of the screen. Holding the attack button keeps you firing at the nearest enemy, and a short teleport gets you out of trouble. Every enemy you kill leaves a corpse behind, and that corpse is where the real decisions happen. If you played Diablo II’s Necromancer back in your computer shop days, pamilyar na ‘to.
One corpse, three choices
The game runs on a simple loop: kill, raise, detonate. Each corpse can go one of three ways:
- Raise it as an undead minion and grow your legion
- Detonate it with Corpse Explosion to clear a crowd
- Absorb it to charge Reaper Form, a powered-up transformation for when things get ugly
All three draw from the same pile of bodies, so you can’t do everything at once. More soldiers or one big boom? Ikaw ang bahala.
Corpses also rot over time, so you can’t hoard them. A gauge called Command caps how big your legion can get, and it doesn’t refill over time. When a minion falls, its cost comes back to you instead. Kaya walang hinayang sa pag-summon.
36 undead to raise
There are six base skeletons and six base zombies, and each one can evolve into two elite forms, for 36 undead in total. They cover four roles: Tankers hold the front line, Melee minions deal damage up close, Ranged minions shoot from the back, and Controllers handle crowds. Elements matter too. Fire stuns, Freeze slows, Bleed deals damage over time, and Dark makes enemies take extra damage.
You bring three minion types into each run, and matching types earn bonuses. Skeletons attack faster when you field several of them. Zombies get tankier, and with three zombies on the field, a fallen one gets back up once more. Literal na ayaw mamatay.
Runewords and a 200-stage labyrinth
The main mode is a labyrinth with 11 zones and 200 stages, and a boss waits every 10 floors. Bosses show warning markers on the ground before their big attacks, so watching the floor is half the fight.
The loot system will feel familiar to Diablo fans. Gear drops with random stats and up to three sockets, and there are 19 runes to collect. Slot the right three runes into a three-socket item and you complete one of 10 runewords. A blacksmith in your village can reforge and upgrade your gear.
Dying isn’t the end. After your first death, you can choose to reincarnate. Your gold, gear and minion levels carry over, and your next life can start from a deeper floor. Reincarnating also unlocks a separate Siege mode, where you hold a bridge against waves of enemies with turrets, altars and your legion.
Kahit busy ka
For Pinoy mobile players, the optional Auto-Hunt is a big plus. Your legion can farm floors on its own, and later in the game an offline reward system collects gold even while the game is closed. Bosses and builds still need your own decisions, though.
From dentist to game dev
Ancoach Studio is just one person: Ingyoon An, a dentist in South Korea who started teaching himself programming through Google searches in 2022. His earlier game, Necromancer RPG, was picked by Google Play Korea as a recommended new game of the week. Undead Legion rebuilds that game from scratch with refreshed visuals. Iba talaga ang sipag.
