Nintendo 3DS Has Poor Battery Life

Ohh poor, so how can we enjoy gaming while spending our breaktime? Well, at least we have 3D.

That’s the shocking truth for pinoy gamers, Nintendo’s upcoming handheld device, the Nintendo 3DS, is expected to only guarantee you of 3 to 5 hours of gaming enjoyment. This is the result of faster processor and eye-popping 3D capability of the upper screen. Displaying 3D will toll the battery more than the normal LCD screen of the previous DSi.

Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata expressed his sentiment since October last year, saying that “it is inevitable that the Nintendo 3DS will be a device which requires more frequent charging than the Nintendo DS.” and just this week, this news was confirmed all over the net.

Well, I’m not saying that you should cut your gaming time, actually you can still enjoy playing for longer hours if you are playing with older games which doesn’t utilize the console’s 3D capabilities. You may also disable WiFi just like your phone to conserve more juice.

Were hoping that Nintendo would sell larger battery packs in cheaper price since we won’t be forced to cut short our quest in saving the princess in far away castle. Gaming device such as the 3DS shouldn’t be always attached to the power chord as it simply negate its most basic function – the mobility.

Do you currently have PSP or the current DSi (XL) device? Please post your tips in conserving your battery so future 3DS owners would be prepared once they made the purchase.
