If you’re into gritty, story-heavy games that feel real—yung tipong hindi ka ginagawang superhero—then Last Drop might be right up your alley.
Developed by indie studio Lohkare Games Oy, Last Drop is an open-world story game set in 1994 Finland, and based on its latest update, this project has grown way bigger than anyone expected.
From Small Demo to a Massive Open World
When the public demo dropped last year, players explored a relatively small area. Fast forward to today, and the game world has expanded into a cross-shaped map roughly 22 x 25 kilometers in size. That’s not just empty land either—over 100 kilometers of roads, lakes, forests, rural highways, and small towns inspired by real Finnish locations from the ‘90s.

The main city, Nykylä, alone covers about 500 x 1000 meters, while Seppo’s home suburb, Kuosilampi, features houses you can explore inside and out. Hindi lang pang-display—talagang ramdam mo na may nakatira rito. Ang tahimik, minsan eerie, pero authentic.
Hindi Ka Hero Dito—Survivor Ka Lang
Unlike most open-world games, Last Drop isn’t about power fantasies. Walang “chosen one” narrative dito. The game is about surviving everyday life—finding work, hustling for money, dealing with people, and making questionable decisions.
You’ll drive around, get into fights, take odd jobs, and form relationships with flawed characters who feel very human. The stories are inspired by real experiences and events from 1990s Finland, kaya mabigat minsan, pero grounded.

One interesting design choice? No minimap.
Yes, wala. You navigate using paper maps, memory, and landmarks—just like how people actually did it back in 1994. Nakakaligaw sa umpisa, pero once it clicks, solid yung immersion.
Built With the Community
Since the demo launch, over 6,000 players have already tried Last Drop, and marami sa feedback nila ang directly nakaapekto sa development. Streamers also picked it up and praised the game’s tone and unapologetic portrayal of Finnish life.
Resulta nito? More than 8,000 Steam wishlists, with some days hitting over 400 new adds. For an indie title, that’s a strong signal na may audience talaga ito.
Big Progress Behind the Scenes
- Here’s where it gets exciting. According to the devs:
- The entire main story script is finished
- Over 1 hour of cutscenes already done
- Multiple hours of recorded dialogue
- 100+ unique NPCs
- More vehicles for players and city traffic
- Swimming mechanics (yes, you can swim in those cold Finnish lakes)
- All dialogue recorded with professional voice actors (to be revealed)
They’ve also secured funding through Early Access, meaning full focus na sila papunta sa launch. Release date announcement? Coming soon.
Why Filipino Gamers Should Care
Kung sawa ka na sa flashy, over-the-top games and you’re looking for something slow-burn, story-driven, at medyo dark, Last Drop hits different. It’s not flashy—but it’s honest. Parang indie film na ginawang open-world game.
Hindi ito para sa lahat, pero kung trip mo ang games na may lalim at personalidad, add this to your wishlist.
Last Drop is coming to PC via Steam Early Access.
Balik tayo sa 1994—no minimap, no shortcuts, just survival.
