TL;DR: Disbond is a PvP multiplayer zombie FPS built by solo developer Galin under Bozz Studio. Everyone starts as a human, one player turns 20 seconds in, and every bite grows the horde. The free demo is on Steam now, and the game joins Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26. There’s no full release date yet.
Kung naglaro ka ng Counter-Strike sa computer shop back in the day, you probably remember the zombie servers. One unlucky player turns, and the whole map turns into chaos: people sprinting to hiding spots, stacking up in corners, and yelling at each other over voice chat. Disbond is built entirely around that feeling.
The game is the work of one person. Galin, the solo dev behind Bozz Studio, told us he grew up on Unreal Tournament, Doom, Quake, and CS 1.6, and wanted Disbond to put fun over realism. He also pointed out a problem everyone from the CS: Source zombie mod days knows too well: walang gustong maging zombie. So in Disbond, zombies get their own classes and skills too. They don’t just run and bite.
How a round works
Everyone starts as a human. Twenty seconds in, one player turns, and nobody knows who. Anyone who gets bitten turns next. So habang tumatagal ang round, paubos ang humans and padami ang zombies.
Matches support up to 32 players, need at least 5 to start, and run for 30 minutes split into rounds of up to five minutes. Bots fill both sides when there aren’t enough players, so may laro pa rin kahit kulang kayo. Everything runs online on dedicated servers.
Two modes, eight classes
There are two modes. In Survival, humans barricade and hold out until the round ends. In Escape, humans fight their way to the far end of the map, clearing obstacles and holding key points along the way.
There are four classes on each side:
- Humans: Gunman (extra damage, grenade launcher ultimate), Grenade Planter (faster with a knife, dash ultimate), Architect (cheaper props, can place traps or disguise as a prop), Exploder (starts with four grenades that deal 50% more damage)
- Zombies: Crawler (fast, jumps higher, can dash), Smasher (4,000 HP, charges at humans), Screecher (blinds anyone looking at it for five seconds), Demon (double jump, can disguise as a survivor or turn invisible right before dying)
The Demon is the one that’ll cause the most drama sa barkada. A “human” running toward your barricade might not be human at all.
Buy menu vibes
This part will feel very CS. Press B and humans buy weapons with money earned from kills: pistols, SMGs, shotguns, rifles, snipers, a flamethrower, plus freezing and anti-gravity grenades. Press N and both sides can spawn physics props. Humans use them to build barricades, while zombies use them to climb places they were never supposed to reach.
Zombies are faster than you, but bullets knock them back, and headshots push them back even harder. Some parts of the maps are destructible too, and there are traversal tricks like cannons, teleports, and ziplines across six maps, including Infected Town, The Bunker, and The Underground Lab.
There’s no grind either. Walang levels, walang unlocks. Every round starts clean, and the only advantage you carry is what you’ve learned.
Before you download
- Specs: Heavier than you might expect. The minimum is a GTX 1660 6GB, an i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 8GB RAM, and 20GB of storage. The recommended card is an RTX 3060.
- Gore: It has realistic blood and dismemberment, so it’s not for younger players.
- Servers: Server locations aren’t listed yet, so ping from the Philippines may vary.
- Release: Only “coming soon” for now. There’s also a Steam playtest you can sign up for.
The best time to try the demo is during Next Fest, when more players will be online and the infection rounds actually fill up. Tara, laro tayo with the barkada, tapos alamin natin kung sino ang unang ma-infect.
