Version 2 of Intel’s Moblin has arrived promising better compatibility and stability.
Intel announced Moblin 2.0, a stripped-down distribution of Linux optimized for smaller screens on netbooks and mobile Internet devices (MIDs). The new Linux flavor is fine-tuned to run on Atom powered netbooks to maximize its power efficiency and performance.

Currently, Intel’s Core i7 “Nehalem” is built using 45nm but the soon to come Westmere microprocessor will be built using 32nm process technology.
Its bigger, faster and of course heavier netbook to launch this 2009 as Lenovo will lead the adoption of the netbook platform into 11 and 12 inch territories.
Im not sure if you can still call it netbook but Lenovo, according to the chinese newspaper Commercial Times, is planing to launch 11.6 inch and 12.1 inch [...]
The second version of the Intel-led, netbook/MID-centric Moblin distribution has gone into its alpha phase. The Moblin Project made the initial version available for testing and will happily run on netbooks.
Moblin is based on Linux kernel and will only run on intel cpu that supports SSE3 including intel atom and Intel core.
