Domination IV is a clash of all the games published by E-Games particularly ZX Online, RAN and Cabal.

E-Games will also announce two new games that will hit the local market – Band Master and Superstar. Both are casual games designed especially for music-loving-gamers. You should try these games if you’re a fan of Audition and O2Jam.

What’s amazing and what struck me the most with today’s event is the massive network of computers around the place. There are literally over 300 computers scattered around the venue! This is one awesome LAN party guys so if your still there at your home, you should come here and party with all your friends.

During the conference, they introduced a new watch-out-for –game: Dragonica. It will be launched during the Domination but we got a taste of this new online adventure game, much thanks to a couple of GMs present during the conference.

Coincide this event, just a floor above, Road to Domination 4 was filled with gamers and fans. For the Runes of Magic fanatics, how do you acquire XP when you have to be interrupted by work? Ching Merano was generous to share some tips (hint: decorate your house). She also gave us a teaser of another game they are launching aside from Dragonica. All we can say is that this other game will require more than pressing buttons. Intriguing, huh? More information on that, you just have to find out during the main event.

What will this downtime to do the official launching of Runes of Magic to commercial from Open Beta? How will this exceptionally long downtime – started March 16, 2010 – affect Domination IV, IP E-Games largest gaming event?

According to the warning, Google is shunning visitors to visit e-games.com.ph website as it was tagged as harboring potential malware code and redirecting its search to a warning page.

According to Wikipedia,

Malware, short for malicious software, is software designed to infiltrate a computer system without the owner’s informed consent. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code. The term “computer virus” is sometimes used as a catch-all phrase to include all types of malware, including true viruses.

As to how google tagged E-Games website as a potential risk is still a mystery but we are getting in touch with E-Games as of this writing to get their comments.

Before this happen, E-Games suffered from intermittent hickups just yesterday. Their games constantly disconnected online and gamers are left without something to play.

Problem start at around 8:00PM last night. At first, it started with their website being tagged by Google as potential malware. Then their games started going down except Cabal and ZX Online.

E-Games promised to release statement later.

Pinoy Gaming Network has always held gaming at a high premium over other pasttimes and not because it is our niche. We recognize that online gaming is a breeding ground for the next wave of influential people and the studies done by IBM has confirmed this. This was the primary focus of the forum, to translate online leadership into real life leadership.

The guildmasters arrived earlier than expected in groups of 4 or more and boy were they pumped. The guests came from different games from different game publishers. Cabal, Ran, ZX, Audition (E-games), RF Online, Ragnarok Online (Level Up! Games) and even World of Warcraft (Blizzard Entertainment) were represented.

The event started with a short introduction and a talk on the IBM study delivered by Pinoy Gaming Network’s own David Ralph Lleno (known in the gaming world as the Game Hero Sir David). He briefly touched the subject of the different reasons why online guild leadership has a strong correlation with real life leadership and even leadership in the corporate world.

He was followed by Gil Edeza President of E-Games and a pioneer of the Philippine online gaming industry. Mr. Edeza discussed the history of Philippine online gaming and its current state as well as its future outlook, citing that the way things are going poses great opportunities for guildmasters to make better their online influence and apply it to the real world.

Last and certainly not the least, the keynote speaker on leadership was welcomed, Sen. Chiz Escudero. He discussed the vast similarities of the online world to the real world and the consequences of one’s actions in both. He encouraged guildmasters to use their influence in the online world to make valuable contributions to society at large.

The response to his speech was tremendous. Questions came pouring in during the open forum regarding how guildmasters could use their influence to positively contribute to Philippine society. Senator Escudero promptly answers with an analogy of using the guild as a “rotary club”. He urged that guildmasters should discuss things that matter in society with their guildmembers and possibly create events to address these issues. The good senator went as far as to say that even if they don’t support him, as long as they engage and get themselves involved (positively) is already a step in the right direction.

The event ended with photo ops and a raffle that had a few guildmasters walk away with a Chiz Escudero boble head and one very lucky guildmaster  from Cabal Online bringing home  a brand new iPod from Mobil 1.

Runes of Magic developed by Runewaker Entertainment of Taiwan is a pretty standard MMORPG. It offers the most basic of the basic for people who want to escape into a persistent world. The mentioned jobs above are as pure as they come. Warriors are the meat shields, Mages cast spells, Priests heal, Rogues are fast, Scouts use bows and Knights use heavy armor! Any noob will figure that out in less than a second.

Runes of Magic will be another free to play offering of E-Games.

To celebrate the arrival of Top Speed, E-Games is launching an event for gamers who have decided to register now. Gamers will have a chance to win rare items to upgrade their karts.

Top Speed Test Drive Event will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. First seven players to enter the room designated by GMs  will have a chance to join the Solo Item Race. More info about the event here.

The Game

Top Speed is a comically fast kart game from Chinese developer ICE Entertainment and will be published locally by IP E-Games. Players speed though the Wild West, rolling plains, undersea labs, and even haunted houses while battling for a first place finish.

Sabotage Items
Crowded races become increasingly frenzied as bombs, missiles, clouds and UFOs add to the excitement. Two sabotage items can be stored at once and stacked to increase effect. A stacked ball and chain becomes a stone weight, while a stacked speed boost sends your kart speeding away on its own set of wings. Items can help you slow down the leader or retain the lead.

Drifting
Where are the racers separated from the drivers? In the turns. Simple controls make Top Speed easy to learn, but its sensitive drifting system keeps players training to master all the sharp corners. Execute a drift perfectly to earn a quick speed boost and zip right by the competition.

Unique Avatars
Clothes, hairstyle, gender, and even horoscopes are customizable for every Top Speed player. Create your own racer profile, outfit him or her accordingly, and go win in style.

You will be able to compete against racers from around the country. The fun thing about this game is that there are items on the road that you can pick up and use to your advantage.

Here’s the list of items you can use

Squirt
First up, we have Squirt (aka the Pink Poop icon) up there. When upgraded, Squirt transforms into Squirt Boss. Use this to activate a huge pile of pink poop to block your opponents’ way and trap them for a short period of time.

Cloud
The 2nd featured sabotage item is called Cloud. Cloud is a trap item which casts a thick mist over an area of the track, limiting immediate visibility in that area. Cloud can be upgraded to Black Fog which literally slaps scraps and debris in your windshield to block out visibly completely.

Super Jet
Super Jet is the upgraded version of ‘Jet’ which is a buff item. Use this item and watch your kart sprout wings for a speed burst and laugh maniacally at your opponents as you leave them in the dust.

Dizzy Chick
This is one of the most deadly sabotage items in Top Speed, and one of my favorites! This item affects everyone on the racetrack, regardless of where they are and Inverts opponent steering controls for a short time. Cheer as your opponent’s heads are surrounded by a ring of little yellow tweety birds.

Guardian
This item is a buff which activates a protective fairy that hovers near the racer, protecting against UFO and missile attacks. This is very nifty if used at the right time to fend off against your enemies’ attacks. The non-upgraded version is called Shield.

Shark Missile
One of the favorite items in game. Nothing like sending a homing missile to your enemies and watch them explode in tinsy bits and pieces.
Description:
Attack. A guided missile that will launch after the opponent immediately in front of the racer, causing an explosion that stops and pops up the racer. The opponent must be in range.

Shark 1337 Barrage
This is an upgraded version of Shark Missile. More firepower, more pew-pew action.
Description:
Attack. A triple-launch of guided missiles that causes a greater explosion and pop up than the single launch. Missiles will strike the opponent immediately in front of the racer if in range.

Iron Boy
This is very useful in slowing down your enemies especially when you need that extra edge over them at a crucial time (ie. near the finish line)
Description:
Debuff. A ball and chain attaches itself to the leading kart, slowing it considerably for a short time.

Stone Man
This is an upgraded version of Iron Boy. Instead of just slowing down your enemy’s kart, this one roots it in place completely for a short period of time. Wiggle your cute bootie gleefully at your targeted foe as he/she curses in his/her frozen kart.
Description:
Debuff. A large stone statue attaches itself to the leading kart, stopping it completely.

Lag Beam
This is another item that slows down your opponents but this takes the shape of a UFO instead.
Description:
Attack. A UFO blast hits the opponent directly in front of the racer, slowing them to a near stop.

Uber Lag Beam
The upgraded and more powerful version of the Lag Beam. Double the power for double the fun!
Description:
Attack. A strong UFO blast hits the opponent directly in front of the racer, stopping them completely.

NosTale is a free-to-play Fantasy Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) developed and published by the Korean company, Entwell Co., Ltd. and IP e-Games brought the game here in the Philippines. It was first released in Korea in 2006.

NosTale means “The Tale of Nomads of Silver Spirit”. The game features typical MMORPG elements, such as chatting, questing, training, partying, setting up player shops and contains most of the elements that other MMORPGs have. Some of the features of the game include Manhwa-style art, ability to select occupations after reaching a certain level, and ability to transform into “Specialist” form using cards and points. Characters

NosTale has 3 different characters to play with: Swordsman, Archers and Sorcerers. You will have to start as Adventure first until you gain enough levels to switch to any of the 3 main class.

Swordman
Swordsmen have the highest Health Points (HP) and the lowest MP usage. They are the masters of the sword and strongest in close combat. The advantage for warriors are strong attacks and critical strikes.

Archers
Archers have a balance of HP and MP. Their specialty is using the bow and arrow. Archers’ strength lies in ranged-attacks and tactics such as hit-and-run, but arrows can run out, leaving them to rely on close-combat skills that are inferior to those of the Swordsman. Archers’ have the highest critical hit ratio among all the other classes.

Sorcerers
Sorcerers use magic and avoid physical combat. They have low HP, but a high MP. Their specialty is using a staff and excels in magic. The advantage of this class is that they have the ability to heal themselves using the skill Aura of Healing, but if they run out of MP they are more vulnerable than other classes.

Mini Land

Probably the biggest attraction for NosTale is the Mini Land where you can aquire your own land and decorate it.  You may build your own house, put lamp posts on the sides, plant trees and more that you can imagine. Its like your mini friendster for you to design and invite friends to visit.  Not only that you can design your own land, you can also place mini games for your friends to play and give rewards to the winners. Now this is something that is unique and first in Philippine MMORPG.  Hello Kitty Online to be released by Level Up! Games has the same feature but for now, NosTale wins here.

System Requirement

NosTale is a PC-friendly game meaning you can play the game and not worrying by high system requirements.  If you can play RAN smoothly then you can play NosTale as well.

• CPU: Pentium or AMD class with 800MHz or higher
• RAM: 512MB of system memory is required.
• Graphics: An old Geforce MX2 with 32MB of memory is enough to play the game
• HDD: A minimum of 1.2GB disk space is required to install the full client.
• OS: Windows 2000, XP and Vista.  Im not sure if you can run the game on Windows 98 but maybe it could still.  No luck for Linux users but you may try your luck at Wine though.

Zhu Xian Online is a game based on the famous internet novel of the same title. Set in Old China in a time when men could easily weave magic with their will, players can choose to join one of the five clans in Zhu Xian: Heaven Sound Temple, Azure Cloud School, Bonding Bliss School, Ghost King Sect, and Ghost Witchery.

Zhu Xian starts the close beta registration today and they inviting pinoy gamers to test the game and wean out bugs before releasing the game to the public.

Cabal Online, one of the most successful gameS of 2007 shall finally be introduce here in the Philippines by one of the country’s major MMORPG game publisher E-Games.

This game is set in the realm of Nevareth, where warriors must use Force Power to resist the evil CABAL. Sounds familiar? bleh, halos pare-pareho naman na ang kuwento ng mga paborito nating MMOG but what actually matters to us is the playability. Is it fun? Is there enough content to keep us busy? Will the graphics and sound reach my nerves? And I guess the most important question is will E-Games deliver a top-notch support to the community?

E-Games hasn’t announced any release date for the opening of the game yet. Though I guess they are still preparing for the closed beta testing (CBT). More or less a month after CBT , I suppose open beta testing will start where you will be able to join and play the game.

So what is Cabal Online? What can you expect from this game?

I haven’t seen any negative comment so far so I presume this game will be a market leader soon. Would it beat the newest MMORPG Perfect World Online released by Level Up! Games? I don’t know yet hehe.
